Day 1 Detailed Itinerary
Hotel Pick-Up - Luxor
- Your private driver and your licensed Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your Luxor hotel so you can travel in comfort in a private air-conditioned vehicle.
Deir El-Medina (Workers’ Village)
- Deir El-Medina was the home of craftsmen who built the pharaonic tombs in the Valley of the Kings. The layout of the village has been partially reconstructed to show the details of what daily life looked like in ancient Egypt. You can visit selected tombs of the workers, which are remarkable for their brilliant painted scenes and intricate decoration.
Medinet Habu
- Medinet Habu was built by Ramesses III. Included in its numerous carvings are reliefs of the Pharaoh fighting the “Sea Peoples” and inscriptions documenting battles and conquests of this era. The temple interior includes a procession of Ramesses’ sons with their names carved deeply into the stone.
Tombs of the Nobles
- Along the West Bank of Luxor are hundreds of tombs of nobles, dating primarily to Egypt’s New Kingdom. Exploring these tombs will give you a unique perspective on the daily life and achievements of Egyptian nobility.
Lunch
- Enjoy lunch at a local authentic restaurant
Return to Hotel
- Your driver will drop you off at your Luxor hotel, to enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure
